So, last week the new MyNintendo reward program for Switch was launched, and I can't help but feel cheated by the company which I've supported for nearly thirty years. With the exception of the NES and Wii U, I've bought all of their consoles on launch day. As an early Switch adopter, I redeemed my golden coins for my physical copies of BotW, MK8 Deluxe and ARMS as soon as possible since I assumed Nintendo would have a reward system in place. Alas, it was only one year later that Nintendo finally implemented a reward system that translates Switch software into Switch rewards (lol, seriously...).
Anyway, physical copies of Switch games are now worth 60 gold coins each. I only received 16 coins for Zelda and 14 coins for MK8 Deluxe and ARMS last year. I contacted them about it, but got a semi-automated response stating they couldn't do anything about it. How anti-consumer are they? No, scrap that, how can you treat loyal fans and early adopters like this? On top of that, some of my gold coins expired BEFORE I could spend them on the new reward system, even though I got them through Switch software and had NOTHING to spend them on for a year after release!
I'm just glad I stopped redeeming coins from all my other physical copies so I could at least gather more coins now, but the way they handled this whole thing is almost hilariously bad.
EDIT: Lol, it gets even worse. Games bought on the eShop now net a ton more coins as well. I bought Fast RMX for 20 euro's and received 20 gold coins (which are now expired, lmao). Anyway, a 20 euro eShop game now nets 100 gold coins. I bought multiple (and more expensive) eShop games as well in the last year. The amount of coins I missed because I supported them from the start is very high.
Any help appreciated.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
